A couple of thoughts as I release this book. Some of you may recall my comment a while back about how I was going to end the story around this point, but because of feedback I decided to extend it a couple of books. Why is that relevant? Well, I needed to take the end plot and extend it out with material to continue developing before we get to the final destination. That’s what took a bit longer.
I’ve also said in the past that I hate everything I write, and it’s still true. While a detached part of my mind that is the reader of SciFi loves the scenes, I still feel like I could have done better. Hopefully all of YOU like it, which is the whole point. It doesn’t matter if I like it.
So, please provide feedback here, or send me a personal email (cs@csgarrand.com) and let me know. I’ll get my apologies ready.
There’s more intrigue, drama and “cloak and dagger-ness” in this one, less large scale military battles. A good portion of the book resolves the Kruyisynth plot line (though not 100%, but close) and it opens other plot lines with corporations, political drama, and, of course the Severant. And it sets the stage for a big book five. It reads more like “The Architect” and less like “Pilgrim”.
There’s a small cliff hanger (because there has to be), but I don’t end it like I did with book 3 (where everyone - rightfully so- was mad at me).
I hope you enjoy it, and as always, thank you for allowing me the chance to entertain you.
